Varinder Dharmani is a senior partner at the firm who heads the firm’s business for the state of Himachal Pradesh. Varinder has an experience of more than 44 years of practice, his major areas of expertise being criminal, civil and various kinds of consumer disputes. He regularly appears before the various High Courts, Trial courts besides other regulatory bodies and Tribunals. Varinder, to his credit, has carved out a niche for himself in the field of criminal law and is a force to reckon with in the aforementioned field in the state of Himachal Pradesh. He has also acted for renowned corporate houses in the domains of insurance, manufacturing, banking institutions, other industrial units in the fields of healthcare, real estate and consumer goods. He also brings with himself a rich experience in property related disputes pertaining to real estate, infrastructure projects, employment agreements, succession laws. He is on the legal advisory panel of various leading corporates, healthcare and industrial houses advising them on various contractual and real estate transactions. His vast experience of handling insurance claims against many leading insurance companies over the last four decades has made him one of the most sought after names for litigation in this field. Being a certified mediator is another feather added to his already glorious hat. Vipul is the founding Partner at Dharmani Advocates and has played a pivotal role in the development of the firm. He is an alumnus of Symbiosis Law School, (Symbiosis International University), Pune. Academic excellence coupled with the passion for the legal profession made him pursue law and enrol himself as an Advocate with the Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana wherein he started his professional practice as a lawyer. Vipul represents reputed companies before various courts, tribunals, other regulatory bodies and forums.
His practice areas include arbitration, banking and finance, debt recovery and securitization, civil-criminal, corporate, infrastructure, constitutional to name a few. His areas of expertise include arbitration securitisation, asset reconstruction, consortium banking, domestic and external commercial borrowings and debt restructuring. He also advises clients on a host of corporate and commercial, labour/employment issues including corporate restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, Incorporation, corporate governance, and all types of commercial and corporate contracts and joint ventures. He has especially proved his mettle in the field of debt recovery and securitization law by representing various reputed banks, financial institutions including asset reconstruction companies both domestic and multinational before Debt Recovery Tribunals, High Courts and other forums. Sugam’s area of practice includes Dispute Resolution, Securitization, Banking & Finance, Regulatory & Policy (Energy), Corporate & Commercial and Infrastructure Advisory. He has represented clients at pan India level as well as international commercial arbitrations. Having graduated from Symbiosis Law School, Symbiosis International University, Pune in the year 2008 with a degree of B.B.A.LL.B, Sugam is a practicing lawyer ever since. Prior to joining Dharmani Advocates in 2020, Sugam was associated as a partner with Mumbai and Delhi-based law firms with Delhi as his chief work base.
Sugam has advised and represented various financial creditors, corporate debtors, insolvency professionals and committee of creditors in proceedings under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016 and before the National Company Law Tribunals, National Company Law Appellate Tribunal and the Supreme Court of India. He has also represented various PSU and private Banks and Asset Reconstruction Companies with respect to regulatory and/or policy, including recovery proceedings before various courts and tribunals including Company Courts and the Supreme Court of India. Sugam has advised Ministry of Power, Joint Electricity Regulatory Commission, Forum of Independent Regulators, Central & Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commissions and Energy Companies on all legal aspects, including handling some landmark cases before Electricity Tribunals and Supreme Court of India.
Rohit has an extensive experience of more than 20 years in the legal practice. His vast knowledge and experience in tax related matters including Income Tax, Sales Tax, Central Excise, VAT, Service Tax and Tax management & Planning; he heads the firm’s operations in the field of taxation.
His areas of expertise include tax related litigation, advisory and compliance. He represents the clients on behalf of the firm in tax related matters before a number of fora such as tax authorities (income tax authorities, GST authorities, etc.); tax tribunals (ITAT, CESTAT, etc.) and courts such as Supreme Court and High Courts.
Under his guidance the firm also excels at extending advisory services regarding management of financial transactions according to the requirement of every client in light of applicable taxation laws and their interpretations besides facilitating the clients for registrations with various tax authorities, preparation & submission of regular tax returns, addressing/responding to the queries raised by the internal accounts team of the clients as well as the tax department, as and when required.
Saurabh handles the firm’s operations at the New Delhi office. Having practiced for over 13 years before various courts and tribunals and dealing with diverse cases, he truly steers the firm in the right direction. He believes in providing multi-faceted advice to the clients and specializes in company law representing the clients before various courts and forums including the Supreme Court of India, High Courts, Consumer Forums, National company law tribunal and various other Tribunals. Saurabh has vast experience in corporate and commercial litigation before the Company Law Board, High Court and Supreme Court of India.
Saurabh has extensive experience in conducting due diligence for properties located across India and giving legal advice/opinion on laws related to real estates and drafting of Memorandum and Articles of Association, Technical Assistance Corporate Name/ Brand License, Share Purchase, Buy-Back Software License, Distributor and Consulting Service Agreements etc.
Gobind is having an experience of more than 6 years in core litigation having represented various individuals, corporates and corporations. His Practice areas include Constitution, Civil, Criminal, Corporate, Service, Consumer and, Debt Recovery and Securitization Law. Gobind has been practising and representing firm’s clients before Hon’ble Himachal Pradesh High Court, District Courts, Consumer Commissions and other Tribunals at Shimla.
Gobind has been associated with the firm since his internship from the year 2013. Thereafter he began his practice in the year 2014 and has been effectively taking care of firm’s clients in the State of Himachal Pradesh.
Saurabh is having an experience of more than 3 years in representing interests of clients in various legal proceedings at different Courts and Tribunals; gathering invaluable experience in handling various types of Litigations – Corporate & Commercial, Arbitrations, Consumer Protection, criminal law, due diligence exercises, conveyancing and drafting of commercial agreements. He has also mastered the art of corporate commercial disputes, including pre-litigation strategy oriented planning, litigation, arbitrations and corporate insolvencies.
